Please take note of a few tips from the very first
bottle. Eye-to-eye contact is important. Also, ensure
that air is getting back into the bottle. This way
your baby will feel comfortable right from the start. |
|
| A baby's bottle also offers nestling
warmth... |
If an infant is being fed totally or partly on the bottle,
this does not have to mean a lack of love or affection:
Feeding with baby lying on your bare stomach or on your
breast will make him or her be satisfied, both in terms
of nourishment and contentment.
You can rest assured that the range of baby milks available
today are exactly right for the needs of your baby at
each stage of infancy and at each feeding stage.
With NUK you are supporting the healthy development of
your child: every feeding bottle, whether made of special
glass or plastic, is tailored to the needs of the infant
for the relevant stage of development. The bottles are
fitted with NUK teats. These are available in different
sizes and are orthodontically designed to an infant's
mouth cavity and jaw and are virtually as perfect a fit
as the nipple.
|
| When an infant sucks on the bottle this creates
a vacuum inside the bottle. Baby has to suck against
this, resulting in air being swallowed and causing
discomfort. However, NUK baby feeding bottles have
an "Air System", which means all teats
are fitted with a valve. This considerably reduces
the amount of air swallowed, making baby feel more
comfortable. |

All NUK teats and bottles now have the NUK Air
System. |
 |
Important
For safety's sake your infant should only ever drink
from the bottle when supervised. And baby will feel
more secure if you are there too. The bottle is
also no substitute for a soother. With this in mind
the feeding and drinking process should not last
longer than necessary (approx. 20 min.). As of the
6th month baby should gradually be weaned off the
bottle and onto a cup. Sucking constantly on bottles
filled with sweet drinks, sweet foods, fruit juice
or acid vegetable juice can cause tooth decay.
Bringing up baby's wind
Your baby is now full and contented. However, baby
should not be laid down immediately after breastfeeding
or bottle-feeding. Hold your infant upright against
you for a while, patting him or her lightly on the
back until the wind is brought up. |
